When employee roaming is enabled on an account with multiple locations, employees will be able change their location directly on the iPad.

How to enable employee roaming

  • Navigate to the 'Settings' tab within the SwipedOn web dashboard.
  • Click on 'Employee Settings'.
  • Enable 'Employee roaming' by ticking the checkbox.

Once the ‘Employee roaming’ is enabled, the roaming feature can now be accessed via the iPad.

To access employee roaming on the iPad

  • Tap on ‘Employees’ to open the employee in/out view.
  • Tap and open the option menu in the top right corner of the screen.
  • Tap on the ‘Change Location’ button.
  • Within the ‘Search employees’ field, type the name of the employee, when the employee search result is visible, tap ‘Change location’.
  • Confirm the location that has been selected is correct, and tap the 'OK' button.

    If required, the employee can also enable 'Change back to [Location name] at midnight' to ensure they appear in the original location the following day. 
  • The employee will then be presented the below screen on the iPad, confirming a successful sign in at the new location.

If your business does not use Employee In/Out, you can still enable the Employee roaming feature so your staff can roam between locations and host visitor meetings.

Using roaming employee without Employee In/Out

  • Tap on the ‘Employees’ button.
  • Within the ‘Search employees’ field, type the name of the employee, when the employee search result is visible, tap ‘Change location’.
  • Confirm the action by tapping the 'OK' button, the employee can also toggle on the option to 'change back to their previous location at midnight' and then tap the 'OK' button.
  • The employee will then have the below screen appear on the iPad to confirm the sign in at the new location has been completed.
